Your Frontier wireless router is configured out-of-the-box with its Wi-Fi turned on. Look for your network (or SSID) name and password on a sticker on the back, bottom or side of your router. To personalize your wireless network settings, please select your router brand and model number from the list below for detailed instructions. No matter which brand of wireless router you have, these basics apply to you: • Connect a computer directly to your wireless router with an Ethernet cable to configure your wireless network. • Choose WPA/WPA2 security and AES encryption (depending on your options). • Create a strong password (or key) to keep your wireless network secure. • Open a web browser and go to. Log in with the user name admin and the password admin. • Click the Wireless tab near the top of the main screen and choose Basic Settings in the menu on the left. • Enter a name for your network that's easy to remember. • Choose the WPA2-Personal for the Security Type and AES for the Encryption Type. • Create a strong password in the Passphrase/Key field. • Click Apply. You've gone to all that trouble to get connected to a Wi-Fi network—but don't stop there. If you're on a public Wi-Fi network, you should also use a VPN to encrypt your data and keep it secure from prying eyes. And, you may need to use a VPN to access your company's internal data and services.
